«Beaver» Gary R. McGinis
1959-2019
«Beaver» Gary Ronald McGinis – age 59, of
Centreville, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at home. Born in
Halifax, he was a son of the late Daniel and Marguerite (Des roches)
McGinis. A sports enthusiast, Beaver was a diehard Boston Bruins fan
and was also a fan of the Miami Dolphins and could be seen
«tormenting» any fan of the Montreal Canadiens. He loved
hanging out at the Kentville ball park with his friends. He was
employed by The Town of Kentville in the Parks and Recreation
Department for 30 years. He loved his job and took great pride in his
daily tasks. He always looked forward to his golf weekends with his
buddies, both young and old. He loved his Diet Pepsi. Beaver could
always been seen driving the Princess Kentville float in any parade.
He liked to attend sport functions that his children were involved in.
He always looked forward to his golf trips with Shane and Keifer. He
liked having his own yard sales. There wasn’t a place Beaver
could go that he didn’t know anyone. He is survived by his
wife, Evelyn (Connell); a daughter, Jenny (Craig), Halifax; two sons,
Shane (Brita), Slave Lake, Alberta; Keifer, Centreville; three
brothers, Dannie (Carol), Lower Sackville; Scott (Sylvie), Canmore,
Alberta; Troy (Jill), Annapolis. Cremation has taken place. Visitation
will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in White
Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where a funeral service, followed by a
reception, will take place at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019.
Donations in memory may be made to youth athletics in Kentville
(Kentville Minor Baseball, Acadia Minor Hockey or the Kentville Senior
Wildcats). Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line
