Allen Ernest Estabrooks
1930-2019
It is with deep sadness we announce the
peaceful passing of Allen Ernest
Estabrooks, age 88, of Sackville, NB.
Allen passed away peacefully in the Drew Nursing Home on
Monday, January 28, 2019.
Born in Midgic, NB, he was a son of the
late Albert and Zora (Hicks) Estabrooks.
Allen was a custodian at Mount Allison
University for 28 years, retiring in 1994. He was one of the guys at all
the exhibitions in the Maritimes and spent many hours taking 1000’s of
pictures, always making sure that a copy was given to
everyone. He
enjoyed going down to St. Anne’s Hall in the mornings to have
«Coffee in the Woods» and catch up on all the
gossip. He loved
to tease and could give as well as take.
Allen will be sadly missed by his nieces
Carolyn Smith and Marlene Phinney; nephews Fred (Joann) Estabrooks and
William Estabrooks; several great nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his brothers
Colburn (Irene), David (Hilda), and sister Helen (Edward) Sears and
nephew Kevin Estabrooks.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300), where visiting hours will take
place on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 1 pm until 2 pm, followed
immediately by the funeral service at 2 pm, Scott Balser, Life
Celebrant, officiating. Burial will take place in the
Midgic Cemetery in the spring.
Donations in memory of Allen’s memory
may be made to the Midgic Cemetery, or the charity of your
choice.
