Viola Bastarache
1926-2018
Viola Bastarache, 92, of Saint-Maurice passed away peacefully,
surrounded by her family, at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital,
Sainte-Anne-de-Kent on Thursday November 15, 2018. She was married to
the late Prémélite Bastarache (2001). Born in
Saint-Norbert, she was the daughter of the late Alphée and the
late Emilienne (Cormier) Maillet.
She will be sadly missed by her children; Irene LeBlanc (Robert),
Angela Saulnier (Raoul), both of Bouctouche, Louisa Dallaire
(Camille), Anise Daigle (Louis), both of Saint-Maurice, Janice Doiron
(Pierre Gould) of Bouctouche Cove, Pauline Bastarache (Michel Gray) of
Saint-Edouard, Raymond (Gloria), Vincent, both of Saint-Maurice,
Alonzo (Marie-Paule Cormier) of Bouctouche, Paul (Wendy Young) of
Richiboucto, fifteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She
also leaves to mourn one sister, Therese Richard of
Richiboucto-Village and several nieces and nephews.
Viola was predeceased by three sons; Jean-Guy, Roger, Bernard, three
sisters; Adele, Marie-Louise, Aurelie and nine brothers; Calixte,
Tilmon, Edouard, Alban, Edgar, Raymond, Albert, Yvon and Willie.
Visitations will be held at the Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de
l’église, Bouctouche, on Monday November 19, 2018 from 2
to 4 and from 5:30 to 6:45pm. The Funeral Mass will be held in the
Saint-Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, on Monday November 19, 2018
at 7:00pm.
In Viola’s memory a donation can be made to the CNIB
Foundation.
Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral
Home in Bouctouche.
