Gazley, Verna (nee Stevenson)
Peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the age of 95. Born in Crookston, Ontario (near Madoc). Beloved wife of the late Bruce Gazley (2006). Verna is survived by her son Kevin (Jennifer), daughter-in-law Felicity, brother-in-law Vernon Cooper, grandchildren Ann-Marie Humber (Darryl), Elisabeth Reaburn (Kevin), Patrick, Lisa, and Colin Gazley. Great-Grammie to Lewis and Cameron Humber, and Samuel Reaburn. Verna will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son Brian (2002), great granddaughter Abigail Reaburn (2016), brothers Clarence (Clara Dafoe), Harold (Oda Devolin) and Roy (Vivian Welbourn), sisters Hazel Kerr (Andrew), Edna Dargan (Rev. Robert) and Mary Cooper (Vernon).
A visitation will be held at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home “Scarborough Chapel”, 2900 Kingston Rd. on Friday, April 6 from 2 – 4 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Knob Hill United Church, 23 Gage Ave. on Saturday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Verna’s memory to Knob Hill United Church where Verna and Bruce were members for 60 years, or to the Scarborough General Hospital Foundation which provided great care over many years.
