Obituary of Vera Park
Vera May Park passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Providence Place in Moose Jaw, SK. Vera was born on May 17, 1924 in Govenlock, SK. She went to Govenlock School and then graduated from high school in Eastend. Vera went to Normal School in Moose Jaw and then taught in various country schools. In 1946 she married Bert Park and they had four children, Shirley (Ralph) May, Pamela Park, Jean (Guy) Bruce, and Donald (Carmela) Park. She participated in the farming operation and then went back to teaching when the children were older. Great perseverance led her to complete an education degree when she was in her fifties. Bert and Vera retired to Moose Jaw where she continued to enjoy cooking, gardening, quilting, friends and children; both school children and her 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Donations in memory of Vera may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Ave #26, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1V9. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at Providence Place, 100 2nd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK. In living memory of Vera, a memorial tree planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
