Thompson « Tommy » Smearer
1938-2018
It is with great sadness that we, the
family, announce the passing of our brother, Thompson
« Tommy » Smearer of Bathurst and formerly of Montreal, which
occurred on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Chaleur Regional
Hospital after a brief illness, at the age of
79.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the
late John and Gladys (Cook) Smearer.
Tommy is survived by one daughter,
Eileen.
Three sisters, Marjorie Randall (late
Eldon) of Minto, Gladys Jean Chamberlain and Evelyn Thibodeau (late
Eloi) both of Bathurst.
Two brothers, Donald and David both of
Bathurst.
As well as a step-sister, Audrey of
Stony Lake, ON.
Several cousins, nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased
by brothers, John and Laurie, step-father Harold Moore and a
step-sister Viola.
The family would like to thank Dr.
Larocque, the Extra Mural and the Palliative Care Unit as well as many
other caring people.
Funeral service will be held Sunday,
January 28, 2018 at 2 pm from the First United Church, St. Patrick
St., Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Tommy may be made
to the First United Church or a charity of the donor’s
choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral
