Ruth Jean Mizzen
Born August 2, 1928 in London, ON to Charles and Annie Pirie. Passed away peacefully on December 13, 2018 at 90 years of age. Beloved wife of 62 years to Clifford (2010). Loving mother of the late Craig (Lyne) Champaign, IL, Lee (Caroline) Victoria, BC, and Laura (Chris) Lafayette, CA. Loving grandmother of Natalie, Sarah, Olivia, Alexandre and Evelyn. Ruth was a talented violinist and after obtaining her music degree at Western University, played in the London then Windsor Symphony Orchestras for the majority of her adult life. She subsequently played in the Windsor Community Orchestra and various quartets with friends and colleagues. Apart from her musical talents, Ruth was a shrewd investor and loved to follow the stock market. She was a meticulous and organized lady with an understated sense of humour. Cliff, Ruth and family spent many happy summers at the family cottage in Long Point. A common sight on a warm afternoon was Ruth and Cliff enjoying a 4 p.m. cocktail on the beach. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Windsor Symphony Community Orchestra would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Friday 3-5 p.m. Funeral Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
