Obituary Overview
Russell Leo Brown
Russell Leo Brown Feb 25 1939 – Dec 13 2017.
Born to Ruby and Gerald Brown of Halifax, pre-deceased by brother Gerald, survived by brothers Ron and Don, sisters Burnadette Bowser and Geraldine Hickey. Russell passed peacefully on December 12 in his home which he had shared with his previously deceased and beloved wife of many years Rosaline Brown. He is survived by his sons Michael and Kevin and grandson Jaziah whom he adored and treasured.
Russell grew up in the north end of Halifax, became a trained militia man with the Canadian Forces and worked as a stationary engineer while raising and caring for his family. He fixed more things than he broke, worked harder than the next guy, and was always looking for a laugh. Russell enjoyed fishing with friends, and was always happiest when there was some job to do. In his younger days he would be found sitting only at meal times or in church, which he attended and was an active member in until his last days. Russell always remembered a face, if not a name and was always quick to offer help to anyone if needed.
Russell will be missed dearly by those who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax. Interment in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Middle Sackville.
