Obituary
With tremendous sadness, we announce the passing of Marilyn Irene Romanick on Christmas Day at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital after a brief battle with lung cancer. Mom was born in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia on June 20th, 1954. She lived there for several years, before moving here to Cranbrook, B.C. with the rest of her family at age 7. For many years, when she was younger you could find her at the bingo hall. In the past 15 years, due to her hearing difficulties, she was mostly found just hanging out at home where she was the most comfortable. Mom for the most part was a stay at home parent throughout her life. In 2012, her first and only grandchild was born which quickly consumed her world. Ask anyone who knew her, Gabby, meant the world to her. Gabby was also the last person mom hugged before she passed. Marilyn was predeceased by her mother Viola Lewis, infant daughter Jennifer Romanick, brothers Greg and Jack Lewis, and recently sister Lavenia (Lee) Guay. There are numerous family members and friends left to mourn her, notably her father Hedley Lewis, her daughter Pam Romanick (Chris), her granddaughter Gabby, her sister in law and best friend for decades Linda Moan (Ken), and her friends that became family, Judy and Ruth. As per moms wishes, there will be no service. Family and close friends will be gathering to spread her ashes at a later date yet to be determined.
