Darren passed away peacefully with his sister, Teresa, by his side. He will be dearly missed by his mother, Mary Newcombe and step-father, Lorne Finlayson, his sister Teresa Goble, brother-in-law Chris Goble and his beloved niece, Acacia of the Comox Valley, his friend Jessica of Victoria, and his father Dale Rennie of Port Clements, BC, as well as his aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends.
Darren was born in Queen Charlotte City on the Queen Charlotte Islands. There he spent his childhood. As a young adult he moved to Victoria, then in 2010 moved to the Comox Valley to be closer with his family. Darren had a wide range of interests. During his time in Victoria he became an avid kayaker. He was a talented, self-taught guitarist. He became interested in computers and kept his many devices and those of others running. Darren loved photography, astronomy, carpentry and working on the farm, especially on the tractor. He was the ultimate Canuck’s fan, so next season please don your jersey, enjoy the game and think of him.
His family would like to thank the medical community for the excellent care given to Darren, and to their friends for their continuing support.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Comox Valley Hospice Society, the Canadian Cancer Society, the BC Epilepsy Society or a charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
