Obituary for
Reginald Allan Starr
STARR: Reginald Allan (December 17, 1950 – September 21, 2018) passed away unexpectedly, but with family by his side.
He will be missed very much by his children, Bethany (Travis), Jocie (Adam), Jordan (Laurence) and Ashton (Trisha), by their Mom, Virginia and by their grandchildren, Maddix, Iyla, Autumn and Hunter.
Predeceased by his beloved parents, Elton and Islay Starr.
Dad always encouraged his children to be the best people they could be, to keep their wits about them and without fail, had words of wisdom to share with each of them.
Papa was especially proud of his grandchildren, whether it was a trip to the grocery store together to pick out treats or rides on the lawnmower, he lived for every moment spent with them.
Reg spent his entire life in Cannington, with much of that time devoted to farming, public service and improving the community through his 20 years as a Councillor and 67 years as a resident. His accomplishments and roles are too numerous to list. Reg always had a smile, a wave and time for anyone he met during his trips into town. He took great pride in his work both with the Township of Brock and with Agricorp, and the lines between colleague and friend were often indistinguishable.
Reg will be remembered as a loving Dad, husband, Papa and friend who treasured spending time with family, feeding the birds, watching sports, telling stories, tinkering on projects for his grandchildren and simply sitting on the back porch taking in the view of the farm fields in good company.
A Celebration Of Life will be held at the Cannington Legion on Sunday, October 21 from 11am to 3pm. Friends and family are welcome.
