Rachel Conway
Rachel Mary Conway (née MacMillan), of Alexandria, Ontario passed away peacefully, at the age of 97, surrounded by family, at Maxville Manor, Maxville, Ontario. Rachel was the beloved wife of the late Cecil Gregory Conway of Chute à Blondeau, Ontario and loving mother of Donald (Lynn), Mary Walker (Glen), Susan Conway Williamson (Glen), Chris Goulding (Bob) and Sheila McWatters (David). Predeceased by her sister, Jessie Lyons (MacMillan) and parents Christine and Donald “Danny Hughie Allan Myles” MacMillan. Dearly loved as Nannie, by her 12 grandchildren, Tamara, Greg (Holly), Ryan, Katie, Jane (Al), Conor (Megan), Martha (Gerard), Krista (Mike), Holly (Karl), Rebecca (Nick), Christopher (Sarah), Kara Anne, and her 13 beautiful great-grandchildren, her special cousins Arlene and Laurie and many nieces, nephews and relatives. Rachel lived most of her life in the 4th of Kenyon valuing her neighbours, friends and parishioners of St. Finnan’s Cathedral, Alexandria. She was honored to become a life member of the CWL after years of active service. Rachel was a beautiful joyful person inside and out. She was known best for her unwavering faith, love of family, generosity of spirit, and service to all in need. Rachel inspired us to “live well, laugh often and love much”. A special thank you to Rachel’s loving caregivers, the Glengarry Memorial Hospital staff and the Maxville Manor staff members who took such good care of her. Family and friends will be received at Munro & Morris Funeral Home Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, (613-525-2772) on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 4 pm – 9 pm, and on Friday from 9:30 am -10:30 am. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Finnan’s Cathedral, Alexandria, on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 11 am. Spring interment in the Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Maxville Manor Foundation, Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation, or Our Lady’s Missionaries, would be appreciated by the family. As a memorial to Rachel a tree will be planted in a memory woods.
