Phyllis Melanson (nee DeWare)
1932-2018
With heavy hearts but inner peace we
announce the passing of our much-loved Mum, Nana and Sister with her
family by her side on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the age of 85. She was
the daughter of the late Roy and Irene (Cole) DeWare, and wife of the
late John Edward « Ned ».
Her unconditional love will always be
remembered by her daughter, Judy (John); Son, Bruce (Rachel);
grandson, Justin (Jenny); granddaughter, Jocelyne (Stephen) and her
dedicated great grandson, Brandon; great granddaughter, Evelyn and
great grandsons, Donald, Ethan and Brodie. She is survived by her
close-knit family of sisters, Evelyn (late John), Lois (late Berwick),
Olive (Gerald), Marion (Jayme); brothers, Ken (Laura), Randy (Sheila);
sisters in law, Garda and Leonise DeWare, Doris Bourque and brother in
law, Laurie Melanson (Rachel). Several nieces, nephews, and extended
family members.
She was predeceased by sisters, Anna,
Ethel, Grace and Hilda; brothers, Earl, Harold, Walter, William,
Lloyd, Donald, Paul and Dale. Also, by her son in law, Tom and
granddaughters, Kari-Ann and Jill Lynn.
Our mother Philly greeted everyone,
relatives, friends and neighbors alike with an infectious smile. Her
door was always open. She was well known in the community to help
people in good times and times of need or sorrow.
We would like to acknowledge and thank
Dr. Suzanne Hall-Losier for her excellent care of Mum, as well as Dr.
Sylvie LeBlanc and receptionist Beverley RN. Also, to each and
everyone on unit 5100 of The Moncton Hospital our gratitude and many
thanks for care extraordinaire and making our mother feel at home, you
were her extended family.
A celebration of Phyllis’
life will take place on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Fergusons Funeral
Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995). Visitation from 1:00 to
2:00 pm, followed immediately by the funeral and a
reception.

Phyllis may be made to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital (5100
Unit), The Salvation Army, or a charity of your choice. Online
