Pauline Cecile Beaudin Dionne November 22 1937 May 26 2018 (age 80)

Pauline Cécile Dionne née Beaudin died peacefully at the Portage District General Hospital on May 26, 2018 surrounded by the love and prayers of her family, friends and faith communities.
During the last weeks of her life, she amazed everyone by her peacefulness and quick wit. She brought joy to many people, but most especially to the love of her life, Robert. In their 58th year of married life, Robert and Pauline witnessed to love in sickness and in health…She will be dearly missed and treasured forever.
Pauline was the daughter of the late Paul Beaudin and the late Juliette Normandin, stepdaughter of the late Lavina Binney. She was predeceased by her beloved siblings: Yvette (Marcel Ingrand), Cyril (Valerie), Roberta (Gary Evans) and Maurice (Joan).
She is survived by husband Robert “Bob”, children Br. Dan, OMI, Joanne (Madonna House Apostolate), Suzanne (Pierre Baril), and her wonderful grandchildren, Catherine and Patrick., as well as her dear sister, Terri (Donald). She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.
Pauline was born on November 22nd, 1937 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. At the tender age of three, she lost her mother, Juliette as well as baby Pierre, who died in childbirth. The family sadly, but necessarily was dispersed until her father remarried when Pauline was 8 years old. She lived out her childhood first in St. Eustache and Letellier, MB; and later on in Ferny, BC and Portage la Prairie. As a teenager, she was drawn to spend her holidays in Willow Bunch, SK (where her mother was born). Oh how she loved to speak about the “good old days” with her sister, Yvette! She eventually moved to nearby St. Victor, SK where she worked for Great West Life Assurance Co. During that time she fell head-over-heals in love with her husband-to-be, Robert. She selflessly served as a stay-at-home mom and wife until the kids were settled in school and then took up a job as a receptionist. Pauline later worked for Manitoba mental health services having been offered a job mentoring people with mental illness as they were being reinserted into society. This led her to volunteering at the local Safe House. She loved to meet people one-on-one and had a great capacity to listen and empathize. She took people into her heart and really prayed for them. Pauline will be remembered by many for her kindness and patience, as well as her gentile humour and quick smile.
Heartfelt thanks go out to our valued friends who visited regularly as an expression their love and care. Many thanks to Dr. Hunter and the medical team at PDGH; to the ladies of Home Care, for their help over the years, as well as to the volunteers at Sunset Palliative Care.
“Precious in the eyes of the Lord, is the death of his beloved” (Ps 115:15)
