Obituary for
Omer Therrien
Passed away peacefully at Timmins and District Hospital on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the age of 92 years. Loving husband of 72 years to Patricia Therrien (née McIntyre); cherished father to Fred (Viola), Fay MacDonald(Joey and Jim, beloved grandfather to Shannon Ketchabaw (Tyler) of Espanola, Jeff Therrien(Natasha), Gregg Therrien(Katrina), Darryl MacDonald (Jen Brandon) and Terry MacDonald of Kelowna. He was a special great-grandfather to Parker, Gianna, Siena, Nico, Todd and Brady. He adored his step great-grandchildren Tanner, Katie, Brooke and Austin. Also survived by brother-in-law Andy Lepage and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Marie Therrien, his siblings, Theresa (Marcelle) Morin, Cora Lepage, Cecile (Harold) Dubroy, Irene (Mario) Boetto, Joe (Anne) Therrien and Rene. Omer retired from the McIntyre Mine after 42 years of service as a hoist man. In retirement Omer loved to travel with his wife in their trailer, take bus tours, and spend time in the outdoors blueberry picking. Omer was an avid bowler. Omer loved to dance and everyone knew he and Pat could be found every weekend on the dance floor at all Senior Club parties. He loved to spend time with his family and could be often found on his front deck enjoying the sunshine. As per Omer’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. Remembrance donation to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Cremation services have been entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home.
