Remembering…
May Quew Chow, age 87, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, November 8, 2018. She was born to the late Joe Pon and Pon Wong Shee on October 4, 1931 in Toishan, China. At the age of 17, May and her family, along with her sister Fai and brother Mon, moved to Edmonton, AB where she met her future husband, Eddie. After a two year courtship, they married on September 27, 1957 and moved to Ashcroft, BC. Together, May and Eddie, raised four children and continued their life in Ashcroft for the next 57 years, moving back to Edmonton in 2015.
May was a loving wife, beloved mother, and caring grandmother. One of her greatest enjoyments was preparing meals for her family, most especially over the holidays. She loved soap operas and pop music, especially songs with a good “drum beat.” Her favourite was “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins.
May is survived by her husband, Eddie and four children, Felita Hynes (Colin), Kasandra Monid (Anatol), Gary Chow and Brenda Chow and her three grandchildren, Grayson (Sonya), Nigel and Zachary.
The family wishes to thank all of those at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital who cared for her during her last days.
A visitation commences at 1:30 PM, followed by an intimate funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 17, at 2:00 PM at Glenwood Funeral Home, 52356 Range Road 232, Sherwood Park, AB, T8B 1B8.
