Lovingly Remembered
Martha Rosin, beloved wife of Guenter Rosin of Calgary, passed away at the Clifton Manor in Calgary on Friday, August 31, 2018 at the age of 89 years.
Besides her husband Guenter, Martha will be forever lovingly remembered by her daughter Darlene Rosin of Chestermere and her extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Wilhelm and Ottilia (nee Becker) Priebe; her aunts and uncles in Alberta; her brother Rudy Priebe and his wife Emmy; her brother-in-law Ewald Eichhorst; and her nephew Bob Eichhorst.
Martha was born in Zarubka, Poland on October 23, 1928 and turned 16 at the end of WWII. She and her brothers, Rudy and Otto, survived by working for a farmer for the next few years. In 1949, all five of the Priebe children (Martha, Rudy, Otto, Teddy, and Emmy) immigrated to Canada with the help of their Uncle Rudolph. Martha always said, “I never had it better than in Canada”. She married Guenter Rosin in 1963 and began an even better life. At age 9, Darlene finally had a father who was the best of the best. Thank you Mom! Martha loved all of her family and friends unconditionally.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Prairie View Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with viewing beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment in the Garden of Everlasting Life at Mountain View Memorial Gardens will be followed by a reception.
