Obituary of Martha Jane Briand
BRIAND, Martha Jane, age 92 – Arichat/Martinique
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martha Jane Briand of Arichat, formerly of Martinique, that occurred at her residence at St. Anne Centre in Arichat on May 12, 2018. Born in Poulamon on August 8, 1925 she was the daughter of the late James and Sophie Irene (Forgeon) Shannon. Jane is survived by her daughters, Anita Webb (Paul), L’Ardoise, Monica Briand and Donna Briand, both of Arichat, Betty Hickey (Ernie), Canning, Hants Co.; sons, Howard and Kenneth (Sandra) both of Lake Echo; grandchildren, Crystal, Oriana, Melissa, James, Charles, Jennifer, Angie, Crystal, Billy, Robert, Alicia and Jessica; great grandchildren, Brandon, Devon, Lee, Joshua, Hayden, Amber and Chloe.She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Jane was predeceased by her husband Charles Briand, son Kevin Briand, daughter in law Christina Briand, brothers Harold Shannon and Leonard Shannon and sister Caretha MacDonald. Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Tuesday evening, May,15 th, from 6 – 9pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday morning, May 16th in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat at 11am with Rev. Michel Exalant presiding. Burial to take place in St. Hyacinth Cemetery in D’Escousse. A reception will be held following the committal in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Hall in Arichat. Memorial donations can be made to St. Anne Centre Activity Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd. in Arichat.
