Marilyn (Mayne) Hudson, age 69
passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side at the
Vernon Hospice after a long battle with Parkinson’s + Lewy
body dementia on April 15, 2018. She was born in Summerside, March 10,
1949 to Allison and Grace Mayne. She joins in heaven her parents and

She was a beloved wife, mother, foster-mother, and

dancing, a dance that continued for the rest of their time together.
The couple were married and through their jobs lived in Halifax,

daughters. They stayed in close contact with Marilyn’s many
relatives even after moving to BC in 1993 to be close to
Pat’s parents. They settled in Armstrong and were an
integral part of the community there.
Marilyn was known for her selfless devotion to family,
choosing to leave nursing to raise her family. Later in BC the couple
fostered numerous children. Many children found acceptance and love in
their home over the years. Angel, Stuart, Lloyd, Tiffany, Crystal, and
Randy will miss Marilyn dearly as she raised them as her own. She was
an active member the Zion United Church, volunteering at Camp
MacKenzie. Marilyn, together with her husband, was recognized by the
community of Armstrong as citizens of the year in 2009. She enjoyed
