Obituary for
Margaret Jane Gunning Powell (Duncan)
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Margaret on July 17th, 2018, peacefully, at the Arnprior Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Harrison Powell and Mother of George (Thea) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Douglas (Annette) of Arnprior, Ontario. Proud Grandmother to Heather, Amanda, Adrienne, John, Andrew, Scott, Robert, and Edward.
Great-Grandmother to Hannah, Katie, Maisie and Gemma.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland on Oct. 08th, 1924, she emigrated to Canada with her family in 1951. She was a long time member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church in Ottawa, and the Sons of Scotland, Camp Argyle #26.
She will be sadly missed by the many friends and families whose lives she positively touched.
Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 315 McLeod St. (at O’Connor) in Ottawa on Monday, July 23rd from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel Tuesday July 24th, 2018 at 11 a.m.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Ottawa, or St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Arnprior.
