We regret to announce the sudden passing of Margaret Ann Ozon (nee Delaney) on Tuesday, 22 May, 2018.
Born in St. George’s, Newfoundland, to Joe and Catherine Delaney, Marg grew up in the tiny village of Spruce Brook, Newfoundland with her sisters and brothers, Leone, Alicia, Tim, and Gerald. Newfoundland was always dear to her heart.
In her younger years, she worked on the Harmon Air Force Base in Stephenville, NL, until she married Joe in 1957. They relocated to Sydney in 1970, raising their kids in the South End. Last October, they celebrated 60 happy of marriage years together.
Margaret epitomized motherly love. She would do anything for her family. Her grandson Andrew was the light of her life. Though small in stature, she had a strong character and was very protective of her family. She had a special connection to the Blessed Virgin who symbolized for her the true blessings of motherhood.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joe, daughters Mary, Annette (Mike) MacEachern and Sue, her son Andre (Heather) Ozon, her grandson Andrew, a sister, Leone Bragg, sisters-in-law, Laura Taaffe, and Marie Ozon, brother-in-law Eugene (Jane) Ozon and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Joe Delaney, sister Alicia, brothers Tim and Gerald.
Mom, we know you are watching over us. We will miss you until we meet again.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church with Fr. Bill Burke officiating followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Donations in Marg’s memory may be to a charity of your choice.
