Linda’s Obituary
LIGHTFOOT, Linda Rose – Age 73, Kentville, Kings Co., passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, Kings Co., on September 3, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Arthur B. and Lulu G. (Sawler) Lightfoot. In her earlier years, Linda had been employed at M.W. Graves Ltd., Kentville, until she was unable due to ill health. Linda was a 30 year plus member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch No. 6, Kentville. She enjoyed playing bingo, darts and cards. Linda loved time spent with her family and friends. Surviving are her children, Kathy (Cory Keddy) Roy, New Ross; Kenny Stone, South Bend, Indiana; Michelle Smith, Brampton, Ont.; Terry (Joyce) Smith, Cambridge; grandchildren, Kandice Roy; Matthew, Sarah, Jonah and Hannah Smith; Jennifer Stone; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Gaston “Costco” and Georgia; sister, Darlene Foster, Coldbrook; brother, Sheldon (Karen) Lightfoot, Kentville; sisters-in-law, Joy Lightfoot, Orangeville, Ont.; Winnie Lightfoot, Wilmot; brother-in-law, Eugene Schofield, Waterville; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Betty Jean Lightfoot in infancy; Juanita Schofield; Diane Jones; brothers, Merville, John, Robert and Irving Lightfoot. There will be no visitation. Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Tribute and Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, in Cambridge United Baptist Church, 5981 Hwy No. 1, Cambridge. Rev. Darryl Dykens and Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating, with interment in Cambridge Cemetery. A reception to follow at the church. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to Victorian Order of Nurses, Annapolis Valley Branch or Carey Me Fund – Supporting Palliative Care in the Home.
