Obituary for Leona Wolfreys
McLean/Wolfreys, Leona Marie – Passed away peacefully at the Ross Memorial Hospital on December 27, 2018 at the age of 95. Leona was the beloved wife of the late Jack McLean (1988) and the late Donald Wolfreys (1992). Predeceased by her parents Leslie and Leila Lang, sister Maycie Tanner (Ron) and son Barry McLean (1990). Cherished Mother of Brenda Verwey (Barry) and Janice Ecclestone (Miles). Loving “Granny” of Dione McLean (Francis Watson), Tina Cameron (Steve), Kimberley McLean (Steve Blodgett), John McLean (Jennifer) Belynda D’Agostino (Nick); Naomi Verwey (Gary Durocher), Brennan Verwey (Nicole), Nadine Fyfe (Bryan); Pamela Doolin and Erin King (Scott). Great “Granny” of 28 and Great-Great “Granny” of 5. Leona will be remembered by Shirley Thornton (Greg), by nephew Keith Tanner (Tracey), by niece Lorraine Tanner, extended family and friends. Visitation take place at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00p.m. and on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 45 Russell Street West, Lindsay from 10:00a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00a.m. Interment to follow in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lifford.
