Kenneth Duain GETTIS
April 28, 1953 – February 15, 2018
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Gettis on Thursday February 15, 2018 at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, Alberta. He passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with COPD, surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born in 1953 in Nokomis, Saskatchewan. He grew up on the family farm with his five brothers and sisters, and attended school in Semans, Saskatchewan. Ken’s career was in the agricultural business, selling farm equipment. He worked for many different companies such as John Deere, Kramer Tractor and Case IH. He loved his work, because of the challenges and the wonderful people he met. He never thought of it as a job, because he enjoyed it so much. From the time he was a small boy, Ken had a great fondness for many kinds of animals. He loved his garden and he took pride in watching his plants and flowers grow. His greatest love was his family, especially the time he spent with his sons and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.

Ken will forever be remembered by his beloved sons, Jeffrey (Auralee) Gettis, Troy (Melissa) Gettis and Cole (Emily) Pahara; grandchildren Kailey Gettis, Jordan Gettis and Noah Gettis; siblings, Jim (Barbara)Gettis, Dawn (Stephen) Bernard, Denise Gettis (Allan Puscas), Kevin (Lynn) Gettis and Gary Gettis;
as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also fondly remembered by Bernadette Gettis, mother of Jeff and Troy, who remained good friends with Ken.
He was predeceased by his parents Duain and Mary Gettis.
Funeral services will be held at St Cecilia Parish in Regina, Saskatchewan on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 2:00p.m.
