Kathleen Burscough
April 17, 1933 – July 10, 2018
Kathleen Burscough (nee Satchwell)
Died peacefully at home, aged 85 on July 10, 2018.
Predeceased by her loving husband Tom Burscough. Beloved mother of Tommy Burscough, Dianne and Petar Simac. Cherished nana of Petar and Jane, Joe and Sarah, Thomas and Joanne. Proud Great Grandmother of Luka, Ryan, Clara and Walter Simac. Survived by sister-in-law Ellen Bagley. Kathleen was born in Ashton-on-Mersey in England. She was the last surviving sibling, predeceased by her four sisters Molly, Sheila, Nan and Josie. Survived by many nieces and nephews in the U.K. Arriving in Canada in 1971 and settling in Galt, Cambridge. Kathleen made Canada her home while maintaining close ties to her family in England. As her journey was coming to an end, Kathleen was supported by many people, her family wishes to thank all the people involved. The doctors at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital and Medical Daycare Centre and in particular Dr. Eugenio for his compassion and Dr. Hahn for making Kathleen feel like a V.I.P. The nurses for their daily visits especially Agnes, Becky and Mariah who showed great concern for Kathleen’s needs. The PSW’s for their attention to her personal needs especially Nakita with her gentle and caring ways. Donna for her spiritual care and wonderful conversations that lifted Kathleen’s spirits. Nicole from the hospice group who gave Kathleen the encouragement to be creative and leave a collection of handmade gifts. Ida, her hairdresser who came to the home to make her look wonderful. Sara, the house cleaner who came early every time just to talk to Kathleen and worked around all of the visitors. Lastly to her friends and neighbours for their visits especially dear friends Elsie and Chip. Visitation will take place on Friday, July 13 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm at Coutts Funeral Home (96. St. Andrews St. Cambridge). A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, July 14 at 10:00 am at St. Gregory’s Parish (10 St. Gregory’s Drive, Cambridge) Cremation to follow. Donations to Cambridge Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Waterloo Region Day Program would be appreciated by the family.
