Morrow passed away peacefully at R.K.
MacDonald Nursing Home in Antigonish on May 18, 2018 in her 92nd
year.
Born on December 9,1926 in Chicago, Ilinois,
daughter of the late James & Hattie (LeBlanc) Purcell, wife of
the late Francis (Frank) Morrow.
Jean and Frank, with their then 3-year-old son Greg, moved to
Ottawa in 1961, where they built a busy life for 27 years.
Frank worked for Statistics Canada and Jean for Transport Canada. They
returned to Nova Scotia every summer, and upon retirement sold their
house in Ottawa and moved to Halifax. An accomplished artist, Jean
loved to paint scenes of the ocean and bright flowers. She loved a
good laugh and adored children. She is survived by her loving son Greg
(Ellen), Ottawa, ON; grandchildren Hannah, Montreal, QC, and Peter,
Ottawa; many nieces and nephews; and siblings Leo Purcell and Eileen
Power, Antigonish.
Jean was predeceased by husband Frank Morrow; sisters Helen
DeCoste and Genevieve O’Connell; and brothers Mel, Jimmy, Gerald, and
Colin.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff
of R.K. MacDonald, and the good-hearted Antigonish crew, for
all their sweet kindnesses to Jean.
A morning service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 21, 2018in C. L. Curry
Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish. A private burial in Ottawa
will be arranged at a later date.
