James was a dedicated man and it showed in the 23-year career he had with Nova Scotia Power. He absolutely loved being in the outdoors and working in the woods. He enjoyed time with his friends, at both the cottage and Tim Horton’s.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Elizabeth (Harvey) Laffin; sons Gregory (Crystal), Barry (Tara), Buttons (Jane); daughter Susan (Johnnie) Turner; grandchildren Josh (Kelly), Kate (Chris), Blake, Zack, Kayla (Terry), Meagan, Melissa, Keshia and Amy; great-grandchildren Esmae, Leyah, Hunter, Jackson and Parker.

It was James’s request to not have a service. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
