Islay Mae Johnston
Johnston, Islay Mae – Passed away peacefully in Goderich at the age of 90 on September 21, 2018. Islay had a passion for making and collecting dolls. She loved travelling around to all the doll shows and always had to stop to take a look if she saw a doll anywhere. She was a real people person and really enjoyed talking to people from all walks of life. She always had time for everyone. Survived by daughters Jo Anne (Bill) Cowper, Owen Sound and Judy Johnston-Graham, Red Deer, AB, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Sister to Eleanor Whitely, Marion Kernighan, Donna (Carl) Bender, Glenda (Joe) Gerrits, Joan (Bill) Crawford, Norma (Gary) Preszcator, and Jim (Marlene) McDougall. Sister-in-law to Vera (Lloyd) Penfound. Also many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Gordon, sons Jerry and Gary, special friend Jim Smale, brothers Murray (Joyce), Gordon, Bob (Joan), Ron, Doug and in-laws Pat Whitely, Don Kernighan, Berniece (Bill) McIlwain, Helen (Charlie) Fuller. Visitation will be held Wednesday September 26th, 2018 from 7-9 PM at McCallum and Palla Funeral Home (11 Cambria Road North, Goderich). A funeral service will be held on Thursday September 27 at 11:00 AM at McCallum Palla Funeral Home. Interment Maitland Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation or the charity of your choice.
