Ingrid peacefully ended her journey in the comfort of her family home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Loving wife to John Kruka. Daughter to Peter and Nina Zile. Mother to Aleza Zile and mother-in-law to Kevin Foote. Sister to Edward, Peter, Brigita and Andrej Zile. She was also Aunt to Ali, Cattleya, Ben, Sonja, Barry, Amelia, Sydney, Victor, Eric, Jonas, Kayla and Kelly. Daughter-law to Elmars and Tonija Kruka. Sister in-law to Peter Patty, Dao, Zaiga, Keven and Claudette. Niece to Inta and Dima. Granddaughter to Lina Zile. Soul sisters Wendy, Heather, Nancy, Roxanne, Whitey, Pam, Chantale, Pattie, Joni, Cathy, Esterina, Michelle, Jim, Eva, Joanne, Judy, Stella, Eva & Sue and Bev. Best friend to everyone she ever met! Although Ingrid has been taken from us, her influence and spirit continue to live on in all who were touched by her. Her smile, brimming with kindness, shone on everyone she met. Ingrid’s special rapport with people was reciprocated in the dozens of friends who joined her in her enthusiasm for life, in the joy resulting from loving communion with others.
Her final days with us were a courageous affirmation of the being she had always been: she made sure to see one more play (she loved the theatre), walk a few more times in her favourite woods and received friends and family with her accustomed hospitality. The void in our lives left by her passing is being filled by the brightness of her spirit and her unforgettable smile. As long as our hearts continue to beat, Ingrid’s loving heart joins us there!
