Glenna Agatha Antworth
1924-2018
Glenna Agatha (Green) Antworth, 94, of Woodstock, formally of
Centerville, NB., passed away on Friday, February 16,
2018.
Born on February 1, 1924, in Summerfield, NB she was the
daughter of the late Earl Edgar (1966) and Jennie Wynona (Beach) Green
(1976).
Glenna is predeceased by husband Philip Leon Antworth (2013),
brother Rev. George William Green (1983), and sister Bertie Agnes
(Gee) Antworth (2017).
Glenna taught school for 24 years in several Carleton County
schools – Tracey Mills, Wicklow, Coldstream, Wakem, and
Centreville. She was an important part of the farm work,
providing dozens of big meals for working men and always looked after
the business part of the farm.
She was a member of Knoxford Praying Band Church from around
1950 and served as Sunday School teacher and Secretary/Treasurer of
the Sunday School for many years.
She kept a diary for over 75 years – a great source
of records of deaths, births, marriages, and the
weather.
Glenna is the last surviving member of her immediate
family.
Glenna is survived by her son Rev. Howard (Sharon) of
Jacksonville and daughter, Naida of Hampton,
brother-in-law’s Malcolm (Carmen), Harold, Kenneth (Jean),
and sister-in-law’s, Elaine Love and Carolyne, several
nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral
Home and Crematorium on Sunday, February 18, 2017
from12:30 pm until the time of the funeral service in the chapel at
1:30 pm with Pastor Carl O’Donnell officiating. Interment
will be held at a later date in the Lower Knoxford
Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Knoxford Praying
Band Memorial Fund.
