Forever In Our Hearts
Gertrude Pointer passed away peacefully at the Heritage Home in Lumsden, SK, on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the age of 89 years.
She was predeceased by her parents; two siblings (Eugene and Helen); and her husband Clifford Pointer (August 15, 2017).
She is survived by her loving brother, Arthur Such, Calgary, AB.; loving daughter, Janet (David) Biggin and grandchildren Sean, Avril, Tenneal, and Ashley; and her loving son, Dale (Jean) Pointer and grandchildren Matthew and Erin.
Gertrude was a hard worker; always there to help anyone in need.
She was dedicated to her children and her family. She spent many hours working with her sister during harvest season, and preparing Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts for all the family.
Gertrude knew the meaning of a dollar, having lived through the hard years of the thirties in Saskatchewan.
She was a fastidious and proud housekeeper, and made sure her children were always well groomed and neatly dressed.
She was an avid gardener, loving her peonies, portulaca, and vegetable garden (that was ultimately raided by her grandkids). She shared her sewing abilities by making many outfits for her daughter and knitting numerous family slippers.
Gertrude had very strong family ties with her siblings and was loved by her friends. The loves of her life were her eight great grandchildren: Logan, Kayden, Alex, Keelee, Danielle, Kohyn, Hazel, and the newest addition baby Harlem.
She will be sadly missed but live forever in our hearts.

A family celebration of Gertrude’s life will be planned for the spring or summer of 2019.
