Gerald Edward Clancey
Clancey, Gerald Edward “Gerry”, age 91, of Dartmouth, passed away with his loving wife and family by his side, on June 15, 2018 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Catherine (Edwards) and Gerald V. Clancey.
Gerry enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and playing baseball. Mostly Gerry treasured time spent with loved ones; playing card games, pool and family pot lucks especially at the Pyes Head Kamp. Gerry began his career at Clarke Ruse/Fairey Aviation and retired as a draftsman from Nova Scotia Power Corporation.
Gerry will be sadly missed by his wife of 67 years, Helen “Jean” (Williams); daughter, Catherine (Robert) Cole; sons, Bernard (Ronelda), Kevin, and Lewis; grandchildren, Patrick (Richelle) Cole, Jeffrey (Andrea) Cole, Meaghan (Michael) Gillis, Ryan (Vicki), Jason, Leanne, and Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Avery, Jackson and Mya.
He is also survived by his siblings, Arthur (Joan), Audrey Conrad (late Chester), Frank (late Catherine), Kenneth (Ann), Jack (Louise), and William (Ann); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Barbara Noyes, Bernice Pelletier, and Bernard in infancy.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 and 7-9pm on Tuesday June 19th, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Funeral service to take place at 11am on Wednesday June 20th in Stevens Road Baptist Church, 5 Stevens Road, Dartmouth, Rev. Christopher Drew officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. The interment is to follow at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation. The family sincerely thanks the nurses and staff, especially Dr. van Tol, at the Dartmouth General Hospital for their caring and support. Also thank you to the CBI Caregivers and the Victorian Order of Nurses for the long-term care provided over the past years.
