It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Fugel at his home in Calgary on November 4, 2018 at the age of 57 years. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his son Irmgard Fugel and his brothers: Alex (Sandi), Steven, Tom (Terri), and Rob (Shelley). Uncle Frank will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Steve.
Frank was born in Calgary, AB and was the second eldest of five boys born to Steve and Irmgard Fugel. After graduating from St. Marys High School, he continued his education at SAIT and received his Diploma in Electronic Engineering in 1981. Frank retired in 2017 following a dedicated 34-year career with CPRail Signals and Communications. Although he had no children of his own, he was an incredible uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom adored Uncle Frank. Family and friends were an important part of Frank’s life and he always went out of his way to ensure all were fulfilled. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and hockey in his younger years. In later years, Frank enjoyed golfing, working to excel at the game. He also had a passion for reading and acquired a great deal of knowledge on various subjects. Frank will be remembered for his generosity with his time, knowledge, and money.
A Funeral Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home (Prairie View Chapel, 1605 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing beginning at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery (3219 4 Street NW, Calgary).
