It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Elsa Anneliese Gilbart onSaturday December 30, 2017 at Dryden Hospital, Dryden, at the age of 82 years.
Elsa was born in Germany and lived with her family until she met the love of her life Gordon:shortly after Elsa moved to Canada with Gordon where she began the rest of her life. Elsa resided in Ignace, ON most of her life with her loving husband Gordon of 63 years. Elsa enjoyed working as a custodian at Ignace Public School where her grandchildren attended and eventually retired from there in 2000. Elsa enjoyed spending time with all her family and friends.Elsa had a love and passion for cooking and always made sure everyone’s tummies were full.
Elsa was predeceased by her mother Elsie Thom and father Herman Thom; her sister Hannalore: her parent’s in-law Stan and Gladys William Gilbart.
Elsa is survived by her loving husband Gordon; her precious children; son Joe Gilbart, Calgary,AB; son Stan Gilbart (Sylvie Gilbart), Ignace, ON; son Gordon Gilbart (Kim Gilbart), Ignace, ON; daughter Cindy Pesola (Richard Pesola), Ignace, ON. Her grandchildren; Misty Dukart (Jody Dukart) Beinfait, SK and her children Aaliyah, Cruz and Jerzey; Jennifer Sitar (Brenden Sitar) Sioux Lookout, ON and her children Reese and Tucker; Tamara Jimenez (Felix Jimenez) Leduc, AB and her children Mercedes, London and Armanee; Jake Gilbart (Cassie Stus) Balmertown, ON and his children Rikki and Kylie; Micky Gilbart (Meghan Gilbart) Cochenour, ON and his children Sawyer and Levi; Brea-ann Wilson (Brett Wilson) Sioux Lookout, ON and her child Harper.
A special thank you goes to the Dryden Hospital doctors and nursing staff for the amazing care Elsa received while she was there.
Cremation has taken place, in accordance with Elsa’s wishes there will be no funeral. A private celebration to honour her life will be held at a later date.
