It is with broken hearts that the family of the late
ELIZABETH M. THORNE of Fortune announces her passing.
Elizabeth passed away at Western Memorial Regional
Hospital, Corner Brook on Wednesday, October
17th, 2018 at the age
of 68. Leaving to mourn
with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her husband Robert of 49
years; sons, Robert Thorne Jr. and Rodney Thorne (Allison Compton) of
Corner Brook; daughters, Mary (Bert) Thornhill and Rita Thorne of
Corner Brook; 1 grandson, Roger
Thornhill; sisters, Barbara (George)
Cumben of Grand Bank, Bernadette Ashford of Fortune, Cecilia (Clyde)
Power of Dawson Creek, BC, Louise (Bill) Lee of Grand Bank, and Anita
Ashford Fortune of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Angus Ashford of
Fortune, Ronald Ashford of ON, Charles (Maxine) Ashford of ON, and
Donald Ashford of ON; plus a large circle of extended family and
friends. Elizabeth was
predeceased by her parents, James & Mary Ashford; and
parents-in-law, James & Jessie
Thorne.
The Thorne Family will be
accepting visitors at the Salvation Army Citadel in Fortune on
Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Sunday October 21
from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. From where the funeral service
will be held on Monday, October 22 at 2:00 pm.
Interment will follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery,
Fortune.
In Elizabeth’s memory, donations may be
made to The Thorne Family or flowers gratefully
accepted.
