Elisabeth « Lisa » van Liempt
1947-2018
Elisabeth van Liempt, 71, of New Maryland, passed away Sunday
evening, November 25th, 2018 at Hospice House,
Fredericton.
Elisabeth, otherwise known as Lisa, or more affectionately,
Oma, is survived by her cat, Snoopy (she would want to ensure she is
mentioned), life companion Fred Mann, daughter Vonda, son Roman
(Angela), and grandchildren Jordan, Lauren, and Roman
Jr.
Lisa is also survived by her Netherlands family including
sisters Christine, Maria, and Annie; brother Ad, as well as nieces and
nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Willem.
Lisa’s first love was wine, and a close second was
nature. She cherished the birds’ singing, gazing at a night
sky, walking through the forest (despite her fear of ticks),
adventuring to find a local waterfall, or camping, especially in Gros
Morne, Newfoundland. She had an undeniable passion for Paris,
collecting memorabilia wherever she could, and as mentioned,
thoroughly enjoyed a nice glass of wine.
If you were to play Latin music, you’d be sure to
find Lisa dancing, even if it was just in her living room. There are
so many wonderful memories and quirks that we could list about Lisa,
but what will always come to mind when we remember her is her
beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She will be missed more than
there are words.
In keeping with Lisa’s wishes there will be no
visitation. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday,
November 28th, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the McAdam’s Funeral Home Chapel,
160 York Street, Fredericton. Rev. Kelly Burke will officiate. In lieu
of flowers, donations in Lisa’s memory can be made to Fredericton
Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society.
