Edward C. MacDonald, in his 82nd year, passed peacefully at the Queen
Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.
Formerly of Glen Valley, Hampshire and most recently Charlottetown,
Edward will be deeply mourned by his loving wife of 61 years, Pearl
MacDonald (nee Nicholson) and his son, David. Edward will be dearly
missed by his sister Anna Ford (Robert), extended family members Alan
and Joe McKinnon, loyal family friend Merritt Ramsay, brother-in-law
William Nicholson (Fairlie Wallace) and sister-in-law Adele Jardine.
Survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Edward
is predeceased by his brother-in-law Robert Nicholson and
sister-in-law Thelma Nicholson.
Edward was very proud of his many years as a school bus driver, farmer
and truck driver. Edward and Pearl enjoyed RVing around North America
during their early retirement years. Anyone who met Edward will
remember his remarkable wit. He always had a joke on the tip of his
tongue and a story to tell.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the memorial service will
be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, April 21st at 10:30
a.m., followed by a reception. Interment later at the New Glasgow
Cemetery. Visitation Friday, April 20th from 3-6 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital
Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of PEI.
Edward’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation
to the Charlottetown Home Care staff and the doctors and nurses of the
QEH, who cared for Edward. He was provided excellent, compassionate
care.
