Obituary of Doreen Dufty
DUFTY, Doreen Joanne (nee MacKenzie) “Reenee” – Passed away peacefully at Pinecrest Nursing Home, Bobcaygeon, on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Doreen of Bobcaygeon, formerly of Kinmount, Gelert and Peterborough, in her 85th year. Beloved wife of Clifford Dufty. Loving mother of Bob MacKenzie, Donna MacKenzie, Chris Bowen (Rick), Rose Church (Peter), and stepmother of Gary Dufty (Phyllis), Kathy Dufty, Sam Dufty (Tammy), Debbie Mintz (Phil) and David Dufty. A proud grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother of many. Sister of Kathleen Woods (late John), Melanie House (Floyd) and the late Don and Darrell Mackenzie. Doreen will be remembered by many other relatives and friends.
An amazing Mom, who was always available to her nine children to provide a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or a hot meal. She was especially famous for her homemade pies. She loved gardening, crochet and helping with the Beagle Club (training dogs for field trials). She knit so much that everyone owns at least one pair of ‘Grandma Socks’.
Following Doreen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Condolences may be made at www.communityalternative.ca.
