Surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, November 11th 2018 passed at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Arlene for 60 years. Loving father of Joe (Joan) of Chicago IL, Steve (Marta) of Fenelon Falls, Gayle Adamson (Mark) of Selwyn, Paul (Jacqueline) of Ottawa and Terry (Tara) of Peterborough. Proud grandfather of Sarah, Emily, Carly, Kirsten, Eric, Breanne, Jared, Kylen, Lexie, Keith, Taylor, Chase, April and Lenny. Great-grandfather of Nicholas, Lucas, Aiden and Erica. Predeceased by parents Dorothy and John Ridyard. Brother of Ruth, Dorothy, James and John. Donald will be remembered by extended family and friends. Donald was a proud employee of General Electric for 39 years, enjoyed a game of golf and a proud supporter of the Toronto sports teams. Family and friends are welcome to the NISBETT FUNERAL HOME (600 Monaghan Rd. S Peterborough 705-745-3211) on Friday, November 16th 2018 for a visitation from 12 p. m. – 1 p.m. A funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Interment Rosemount Memorial Gardens. The family would like to send out a thank you to Fairhaven for the care given to Donald during his time there and the nursing staff at the PRHC on the 6th floor and the palliative care unit. In memory of Donald, donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society Peterborough. Chapter would be appreciated by the family.
