Obituary for
Desmond Michael Martin
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Desmond “Des” Michael Martin announces his sudden passing. Desmond passed away peacefully from the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Friday, September 21st, 2018 at the age of 71 years.
Desmond is predeceased by his parents Sylvester & Caroline Martin; parents-in-law – Claude & Dorothy Critch; grandson – Jonathan Amy; sisters-in-law – Claire Martin & Wavy Barker and brother-in-law – Andrew Brown.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is his wife of 38 years – Marjorie Martin, La Scie, NL; children – Brendan Martin (Lisa), La Scie, NL and Amy Budgell (Damon), Fort McMurray, AB; grandchildren – Gabrielle, Carly, Spencer, Kenlei, Reed and Reegan; siblings – Margaret Sullivan (Edward), Brendan Martin (Maggie), Mary Martin, Irene Brown, Ann Dodd (George Kirwan), Ruth Lethbridge (Alex), Gerard Martin, John Martin (Patsy), George Martin (Irene), Sheila Toms (Harold), Barbara Tibbo (Shawn) and Lisa Martin (Steve Sobala); siblings-in-law – Baxter Critch (Joanne), Raymond Critch (Daphane), Perry Critch (Michelle), Warrick Critch (Jackie), Chris Critch (Koni), Jackie Sullivan (Charlie), Kevin Critch (Kelly) and Nelson Critch (Kelly); special nieces and nephew – Emily Morgan, Riley Toms and Katie Morgan as well as an incredibly large circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and innumerable friends.
Public Visitation will take place from St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, La Scie, NL on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 and Monday, September 24th, 2018 from 1:00-9:00PM.
A Rosary Service will take place on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 at 7:00PM.
A Wake Service will take place on Monday, September 24th, 2018 at 7:00PM.
Father Camillus Ekedobe will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial from St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, La Scie, NL on Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 at 2:00PM. Interment to follow from St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Cemetery, La Scie, NL.
As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Des’ memory to assist the family.
