Dawn Helen Lily Farrer-Garland
1932-2018
Dawn Helen Lily Farrer-Garland passed away peacefully with
her daughter by her side at The Moncton Hospital, on Monday, November
5, 2018. She was 86 years old and a resident at McNair Manor
(Riverview) and a former resident of Riverview and
Moncton.
Born in Campbelton, Dawn was the daughter of the late Leslie
Colbourne Farrer and Lylia Margaret (McIntosh) Farrer. Dawn
lived in Mann’s Mountain, Kedgwick River & Glencoe, before
moving to Moncton in 1959. She was employed at Eaton’s Co. for many
years, handling Customs & Traffic. When the Eaton’s catalogue
closed, she became a student at NBCC, then she went on to work with
Canada Post until her retirement.
Dawn enjoyed sewing and other crafts, she loved to help
others, she loved her gardens, and most of all she loved animals, both
domestic and wildlife. She also loved doing genealogy and had done
family history of each of the families from who we descend, tracing
microfilm, church records, gravestones, and her correspondence with
the many people who helped her with this work. In addition to her
written records, Dawn kept almost all of the records in her head.
Everywhere she went she would find family members.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarina Lylia Elizabeth
Farrer (Adelman) of Riverview & Calgary, niece Judy (Viktor)
Komadina, of Riverview, and her nephew Bernie Barry of Tide
Head.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her half sisters
Sarah Elizabeth (Lizzie) Jardine and Florence Barry; nieces Joan
MacKnight and Doris Mechas, Jacqueline Jardine, and her nephew James
Jardine.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the
amazing and wonderful nurses of the 3600 ward at the Moncton Hospital,
and equally wonderful nurses of the 5th floor. Also the wonderful
staff at McNair Manor in Riverview for their care of
Dawn.
At her request there will be no services held. Dawn
will be laid to rest at the Campbellton Rural Cemetery at a later
date.
Memorial donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital,
Atlantic Wildlife Institute or your favorite animal rescue charity, or
any charity that supports research for Dementia would be appreciated
by the family.
