On December 4, 2018, Daniel Fisher Sr., Loving Dad, brother, cousin and friend passed away at the age of 79. Dan spent last few years at Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife Jean, parents Peter and Sophia Fisher, his brothers John, Charlie, Cornelius, Henry, Archie, George and William, his sisters Emma, Eva, Mary and Virginia, nephew Tim and his beloved grandchild Mario.
He is survived by his brother Jim (Diane), his sister Irene, his children Daniel Jr., and Sophie, his grandchildren Dennis, Peter, Maria, Paul and David, Margaret (Fred), Nona (Donald), Elmer, Jacob, Leonard (Donna), Helen, Cindy (Adolphus), George, Ivan (Edith), Brenda (Gordie), Glenda (Gary), Sharon (Nick) and Jennifer Ann,. Many nieces and nephews Emma and Archie, Dele, Debbie, Donna, Donald, Katherine, Charles (Karen), Diana, Anne, Mike, Bernedette, Eric, Eva, Jackie (Glenn), Veronica, Deb, Harvey, Leon (Wanda), Neil, Adeline, Virginia, Vincent (Loretta), Laura (Philip), Derek, Lena and Melissa.
He lived at Goshawk for quite a few years. Dan supported his family through his love of hunting, fishing, trapping and guiding. He worked at Wabaseemoong as a custodian for a number of years. He raised his grandchildren Dennis, Peter, Maria, Paul and David and was a guardian of his nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Sophie, Dan Jr. and family and friends.
Wake Services will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Whitedog Community Hall. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Whitedog Community Hall with Pastor Robert Wittmeier officiating. Interment will be held at Goshawk Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home for the kind care and compassion shown to Dan.
