Sergeant (ret) with the Royal Canadian Regiment. Passed peacefully on the morning of Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Parkwood Veterans facility in London, Ontario. Bill lived a rich life, joining the Canadian Armed Forces in 1952 and served 33 years before taking his retirement in 1984. He served two tours of duty in Germany with NATO, as well as two tours with the United Nations in Cyprus. A proud soldier, loving father and caring grandfather. He was blessed with three children with his wife Diane Maxine Cole (née McConnell, predeceased). Loving father of William Cole (Jean-Marie), Michael Cole (Julia), and Nancy Masterson (Sean Mayman). Dear grandfather of Lia Cole, Cristian Masterson, Katie Cole, William Cole, and predeceased by grandson, Michael Cole. He was fortunate to find love again with Barbara Ann Lyons, and spent his remaining years rediscovering the joys of life. A Celebration of Life will be held at the ORANGEVILLE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION, BRANCH 233, 7 John Street, Orangeville, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bill are asked to consider Wounded Warriors Canada (woundedwarriors.ca).
