Christopher Brown
It is with broken hearts that we say goodbye to Chris after a brave and valiant battle with cancer. He passed away surrounded by his family on September 16th, 2018 in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital. He was born in Scarborough, Ontario and lived in various cities with his parents and sister until settling in Saskatoon where he joined the Saskatoon City Police Service.
Chris was proudly employed with the SPS for almost 30 years, retiring in 2011. He then joined the Corman Park Police Service before retiring in 2017.
Chris was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and he enjoyed fishing, quading, snowmobiling and shooting at the range with his dad. He was an ardent New England Patriots fan as evidenced by various coffee mugs, jerseys, t-shirts, stickers on his truck and clocks around the house.
He is survived by his wife Susan, his son Mike (Carmen) and daughter Nicole (Josh), his dad John, sister Sandra (Bob) Tingey, mother-in-law Helen Jones, brother and sister-in-law Dave Jones and Michelle DeLaronde, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Moyra (Mollie) in September 2017 and father-in-law Robert Jones in December 2013.
There are truly angels among us. We would like to thank the following people who walked with us on this difficult journey: Dr. Peter Spafford, Dr. Bryan Brunet and his radiation oncology team, Dr. Adnan Zaidi and his medical oncology team, Dr. Anderson Tyan, Dr. David Fox, Dr. Julian Tam and the respirology team, the staff at the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic and Pain and Symptom Management Clinic, the doctors and nursing staff on the 6100 oncology ward at Royal University Hospital, the Palliative Home Care nursing team, the Palliative Care Unit nurses at St. Paul’s Hospital and a special thank you to Dr. Andrea Johnson for her compassion and care towards Chris in his final days. You are an amazing team of professionals who guided us through a very emotional time.
Browner, you will be missed. 10-7.
