Charles’ Obituary
On October 31, 2018 Charles Herbert West passed suddenly into the presence of his Lord, peacefully at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, attended by his loving wife, family and friends. Herb was born March 11, 1935 to Charles and Dorothy West of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He was born again on December 12, 1954, at the age of 19 in the city of Toronto Ont. He trusted Christ as his saviour, resting alone on the finished work of Christ on the cross for his eternal salvation. « Absent from the body, present with the Lord » 2 Corinthians 5:8. He was greatly loved by his wife, sons and daughter and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all including a large number of friends. Left to morn are his loving wife, Ruth (nee Simms), sons Peter and Robert, daughter Sheila (Stephen Joyce), grandchildren Deborah-Anne Jeyasurya (Jeswin), Bethany Zhang (Jack), Andrew Joyce, Sarah Joyce, Grace Joyce. And one great-granddaughter, Emily Jeyasurya. He also leaves to mourn, one brother, Lorn West (Beverly), two sisters, Eunice McLeod (Murray), and June West. One brother-in-law Gordon Hall and two sisters-in-law, Linda (Reginald) and Sandy (Vernon). He also had a large number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother Charles Robert West, and Dorothy M. West (nee Davidson), two brothers, Reginald West, and Vernon West, and one sister, Joyce Hall. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm from where the funeral service will take place at the Country Haven Chapel on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at 2 pm with Mr. Bert Snippe officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted. The family guestbook may be signed by visiting www.country-haven.ca.
