Charles’ Obituary
The family of the late Charles Bennett announce his peaceful passing surrounded by his loving family at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at the age of 71. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Mona Bennett of 48 years; his children: Peter Bennett (Tracey Hersey), Joanne Bennett (Rick Park), and Nicole Bennett (Travis LeCoure), his grandchildren: Nicholas, Kailee, Jaxon, Jeremy; his sisters: Patricia, Jane (Gary), Dolly, Sherry (Darrell), Karen (Brett), Connie (Fred), Shelly (Shawn); his brothers: Joe (Leona), Dana (Elaine), Shawn (Liz), Gary (Sherry), Donnie; his special friends: Eric Jesso, Dave Joyce, Gussy Jones; his furry friend Sam; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Charles was predeceased by his son Anthony (1998); his parents: Pius & Alice Bennett; his sister Lorraine; and his brother in law Calvin. At Charles request, cremation has taken place. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Benoit’s Cove on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018 at 10:30 am with Father Jim Robertson officiating. Interment to follow at the Old Benoit’s Cove Roman Catholic Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations are graciously accepted to the family. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff and nurses on the WMRH 4th floor and palliative care unit, to Dr. Morris, Dr. Bubtana, and Dr. Dunn, Judy Strickland, Vicky Wheeler, and to his homecare worker Lori for all of their care and compassion during this difficult time.
