It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Cecilia who left us on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Margaret Cecilia (Cec) LaValley was born to Louis and Veronica Wukusich on November 6, 1938 in Lethbridge, Alberta. She grew up in Lethbridge where she received her certificate in nursing at St Michael’s Hospital in 1959 and married Roy LaValley that same year. Cec was devoted to her family and friends and was a compassionate nurse, lovingly caring for others, particularly seniors in her later years. She was active in the Catholic church, assisting with activities at Resurrection Parish until her health prevented it.
Cecilia was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Louis and Johnnie, and her sisters Annie and Mary.
She is survived by her husband Roy, her children Keith (Myrna), Glen (Margo), Judith (Brian) and Janet (Dave), her grandchildren Wendy, Robert, Mathew, Maja, Robin, Eldon, Alex and Chloe, her great-granddaughters Mackenzie and Sawyer, her sisters Louise and Cathy, and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 5 at Resurrection Parish (10555 – 50A Street), light lunch and remembrances to follow.
Cecilia was a kind and generous person and will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers we ask that you say a prayer, hug those you love and show kindness to a stranger.
