Calvin Thomas Stewart

STEWART, Calvin Thomas ~ age 94 of Middleton, formerly of East Tremont, passed away peacefully in the Veterans Unit of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in West Indian Road, Hants County, he was the son of the late William and Sarah (Mason) Stewart. Calvin was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, retiring after 30 plus years as mechanic with the Royal Canadian Air Force MSE Section. Calvin enjoyed gardening as a hobby. He loved his family dearly; especially enjoying time with his grandchildren. Calvin will be sadly missed by his daughters Judith Stewart, Greenwood; Linda Burbidge, Greenwood; Gail Adams, Greenwood; Valerie Jean (Frank) Sproule, Tremont and Anita Stewart, Greenwood; sons William Stewart, Dartmouth and Gerald Stewart, Toronto; grandchildren Jaime (Greg Bustin) Burbidge, Three Mile Plains and Michael (Joella) Burbidge, New Minas; great grandchildren Lillian Burbidge, Alfie Burbidge and Rosalie Burbidge; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Calvin was predeceased by his wife Margaret; brothers Roy Stewart; Cecil Stewart and Cecil’s wife Verna. In keeping with Calvin’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held in Upper Nine Mile River at a later date.
