Brian Robert Fawcett 2018

Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory of Brian Fawcett
Brian Robert Fawcett of Riverglade, NB, passed away on February 6, 2018, with his wife Pennie and his beloved pet Molly at his bedside.
Brian was born in Leigh on the Sea, England and came to Canada at 6 months of age with his mother Kathleen Alden Smith to join his father Jack Fawcett. The family settled in Riverglade, NB.
Brian valued his education, he graduated from JMA in Salisbury, NB and then he took his first year UNB at Moncton High School. The following year he was hired at the CNR (Data Center) and he received his Industrial Mechanic License, working as a machinist for the CNR for over 40 years. He made many close and lasting friendships during his time there.
He attended St. Jude’s and St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church. He had a special place in his heart for Fr. Allison Carroll who took him through the Catholic Initiation Process.
He is survived by his wife Pennie (Ross) of Moncton, son, Robert Fawcett (Catherine) of Brackendale, BC, two stepchildren that he loved as much as his own, Dean Corey of Dawson Creek, BC, Mindi Cowan of Salisbury, NB, one sister, Karen Fawcett (Joe), his very special sister-in-law, Debbie Kingston of Moncton; grandchildren, Jack and Lila Fawcett, Ashleah, Tristan, and Colby Cowan; several nieces, one nephew and many cousins.
Brian was predeceased by his father, Jack Fawcett, his mother Katherine Alden Smith, a special Aunt Jenny Fawcett who helped raise Brian and Karen until Jack met Marjorie Hutton and they married and she took on the role of mothering like she was born to do. Brian affectionately called her “Mother”.
Brian spent his spare time working in the wood lot with his father, motorcycling on his old bike that looked brand new with his “biking buddies” (Scott, Harold and Wayne). He loved to travel especially cruising. His favourite trip being Hawaii.
The family would like to thank the Staff of the Spencer Memorial Home Deerwood Unit for the love and care shown to him for the past 7 months. A very special thank you to Bernie Alcorn (Roberta), and Scott McConnell (Linda) for going out of the way this last year to take Brian for drives and their frequent visits. You could always bring a smile to his face. God Bless you.
At his request there will be no public visitation or service. A private family graveside service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the K.E. Spencer Home, The Alzheimer’s Society, or the SPCA. If you want to Celebrate Brian’s Life you can do so by doing as Becca Schofield has asked us to do – Do something Kind in word or deed for someone today. Brian would love that.
