Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
Betty V. Hefter passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Southwood Hospice at 98 years young.
She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother to her cherished great-granddaughters, Georgia and Memphis.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, George, her daughter- in-law Donna, and three brothers, Bob, Tom and Bill Hugh. Betty is survived by her daughter Meridee (Richard), son Tom, granddaughter Delea, great-granddaughters Georgia and Memphis, and her sister Mary Jane Brower (Ohio) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty’s lovely spirit and infectious smile touched the lives of those who had the pleasure of meeting her, and she was as an inspiration to her family. After years of teaching she and George raised two children, Meridee and Tom. She was a devoted housewife and mother, and volunteered in many capacities in Calgary. During George’s retirement, the couple spent several months a year in Arizona. Betty was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her darling great-granddaughters. She kept up with technology and became very adept at corresponding by email to family and friends until her passing.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the caring staff at both Rocky View Rehab Unit and the Southwood Hospice.
A private family internment has been held, and if friends desire a memorial tribute can be made to a charity of your choice. There will be a Private Celebration of Life at a later date. To express condolences, please visit: www.mountainviewmemorial.ca.
